About the Call

Join this session of Resilience and Possibility in These Times for a conversation with Hilary Giovale, author of Becoming a Good Relative: Calling White Settlers toward Truth, Healing, and Repair.

Hilary brings rare clarity to the spiritual and strategic journey of repair and reckoning with the harmful legacies of colonialism. With depth and grace, she models how we can choose truth-telling over denial, accountability over paralysis, and generative grief over shame. Her work invites us to examine colonial history with equanimity and to transform harmful legacies into sacred responsibility.

Many feel grief as they begin to understand the erasures and injustices woven into our histories. Hilary shows how facing ancestral truths can open pathways toward healing and collective liberation—supporting Indigenous leadership, repairing harm, and reclaiming an embodied sense of belonging within one’s own lineage, without appropriation.

This gathering offers space to reflect, to reckon, and to realign our inheritance with the flourishing of Life.
